Cascadian, organizer, bioregionalist, family member, partner, and friend Leif Brecke passed away last Wednesday evening. Leif was incredibly well-loved and is very deeply missed. One of the greatest advocates for bioregionalism, socioeconomic justice, Leif dedicated his adult life, and the past several years working towards permaculture, mycology, open governance systems, a more just society, and was a wealth of information and insights.
Leif worked with the Southern Oregon Education Service district, was a founder of the Resilient Communities Project, the Cascadian Resilience Network, was a key Grange hall organizer, and put forth countless events, impacting untold lives in our movement and community.
Please keep his family, and all of our communities, friends and families in your thoughts as many struggle to move forward during this extraordinarily difficult time. If you know someone suffering from depression, please reach out to them and let them know you're there for them if they need it.
If you were a friend of Leif, please send your thoughts and wishes on his Facebook page and do not hesitate to reach out to us if you needed.
Thank you all.
