The first weekend of October marked a momentous milestone for Vertical Generation, a project of CascadiaNow!, who held their first outdoor rock climbing trip with youth from the International Rescue Committee (IRS,) an awesome organization that provides support to humanitarian crises around the world and refugee families.
Survivor Support Network (SSN) seeks to build a community among survivors by creating a space to gather with other students who share these experiences. In the larger community, our focus is on creating a compassionate student body who knows what it means to support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Thank you to all the Cascadians who joined us in celebrating our first ever Cascadian Culture week! From libraries hosting Cascadia Displays, to barbeques, concerts and events - we had an absolutely lovely week. Our executive director also helped host two ask me anything's in Reddit, several lovely articles about Cascadia & Bioregionalism, and an interview in the Seattle MET also came out that week!
